What is an Exercise Physiologist?

To put in as simply, an exercise physiologist will prescribe a dosage of exercises (your exercise program) like a doctor would prescribe your medicine dosage, depending on your illness or injury.

We do not provide manual treatment like massages or dry needling like a physiotherapist does to give you pain relief, we help you move better and get out of pain without the need for manual therapy.

An Exercise Physiologist studies for a minimum of 4 years at university to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. This means we have extensive training and education in how the body works, understand how different injuries and illnesses affect our health and most importantly, how to improve your injury and illness using exercise as our main treatment method.

We all know how important exercise is, however many people are not meeting the minimum exercise requirements to maintain a healthy lifestyle to reduce their likeliness of acquiring an illness or injury. As a result, we are seeing a chronic disease epidemic and this is where our role as an Exercise Physiologist can make a difference to your health.
